Are You from Another Country?

You may have been wondering if you can make it as a successful actor even though you’re from a distant land. Question 1: Have you ever heard of Arnold Schwarzenegger? Or how about Selma Hayek or Antonio Banderas? All of them were born and practically raised outside of the “states” (Hollywood) and have managed to become successful actors. The important and funny part about it is that THEY STILL ALL HAVE THEIR ACCENTS! Question 2: If they’ve become successful actors, why can’t you?

It doesn’t matter to me where you are from. People from all over the world come to our site everyday looking for that one answer, that one little piece of encouragement giving them the surety that they too can make it “big” in Hollywood. We have a tracking system where I can see where the people who visit our site are coming from and it amazes me every time! Austria, India, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, Iran, France, Japan, Korea, you name it. If you’re reading this article perhaps you are from one of these distant places? If so, drop us an email to say hi and let us know where you are from! I welcome you to this American website and I hope I can help you in any way I can.

You Can Make It!

Even with your foreign accent I’m here to encourage you and tell you that you can make it! Just be yourself and study, study, study, the art of acting. Don’t worry, there are many different foreign characters that Hollywood could invent to make you into a star if they choose. Jackie Chan is the perfect example of this. However, Jackie Chan did not become a star overnight. He spent years working hard on his acting craft and martial arts skills, starring in movies in his native Hong Kong long before Hollywood made him a International star. Perhaps it is your destiny to make it as a successful actor in your own country first before coming to the states?

Practice Makes Almost Perfect

Before visiting the states, the best thing I can encourage you to do is to learn the art of acting and get involved right where you’re at. You must crawl before you can walk. When you come here, agents and/or managers will want to see a “demo tape” (or what we like to call an Acting Video Resume) of your work before taking on newer clients. Remember, you have to have some work experience before you can get a Hollywood agent to have some interest in you. So I encourage you to get involved in your school or neighborhood theater projects. Most importantly get it on video tape! This is important because a video tape of your work proves that you have done something. There are many actors who “claim” to have done this or that but have nothing to show. Talk is very cheap in Tinseltown and in order for you to get noticed by anyone, you’re gonna have to show it.
